About the event

Adam Duncan and the Life-Stage team look forward to welcoming you to an introduction to the Life-Stage. This is a  two hour session which would contains a half hour for break-out group discussion around The Power in Ageing.

The aim of Life-Stage is to transform the fear of ageing and death in meaningful connection and purpose. After mid-life, some people come into their own, while others become fearful and isolated. Rather than be cowed by fear and clinging to a fossilised version of who we were, we can respond to the challenges of growing older by developing our innate wisdom and courage…no matter our age or circumstances.

Inevitably, the effects of entropy become more apparent as our youth slips away. We grieve the loss of relatives and friends. We live with diminishing flexibility, skin elasticity and 20/20 vision. Retirement and caring for ageing parents may challenge our social identity and our sense of purpose. Ageing is not for feint-hearted, so how can we develop our inner resources to serve our community and have  magnificent second half of life?

One of the key tools of communication in Life-Stage work is the use of dyads so that we can listen actively and share spontaneously around key life questions. Some of these questions are posed in my book The Power in Ageing on which much of the work is based.

There will plenty of time for facilitated discussion and for you to share your thoughts on your ageing journey.
