The Power in Ageing
THE POWER IN AGEING online In each of these sessions we look at some of the key aspects around growing older to help us find and maintain clarity of intention. SESSION 2 FOOLISHNESS & WISDOM There is no shortage of foolish thoughts, words and actions. We can easily recognise them in society and sometimes perhaps in ourselves. But what is wisdom? Does it come with age? In the face of growing old and our own mortality can we develop our innate wisdom? Today there’s knowledge on every aspect of life that is easily accessible to us – literally at our finger tips. But knowledge is different to wisdom. There's an abundance of information in the world. The amount of data has doubled since 2020 from 64 zettabytes (ZB) to140 ZB of data today and with artificial intelligence this figure will continue to snowball. We need wisdom to choose what knowledge and information will serve us. Wisdom is much more than intelligence or common sense. In the second half of life we need to engage our inner wisdom to live with fulfilment. Adam Duncan, the author of The Power in Ageing, opens up the topic before the hosts, Nicola Glinwood and Simon Chinnery facilitate the discussion. Through listening and sharing in the Life-Stage community, we we transform concerns around ageing into meaningful connection and purpose. Sun. 25th.
